Just to let you know that I'll probably not get much time for blogging over the next few days but I'll be checking in every now and then.
Tomorrow morning I will be up and off by 6am to do a three hour (each way) journey to collect a blogfriend from the airport. I might even set off earlier than that so that I can have a short break before the return journey.
On the way back we will be stopping off at my Daughter's for lunch which promises to be a treat. She's even promised to make a Tarte au Citron which is always delicious. The rest of the meal, which we hope to be able to eat alfresco, is secret! If the spell of fine weather holds then we will be able to make use of the swimming pool.
Later on we will drive back to my place where we can relax, share some wine and have a good old natter. A brief tour of my village might be included.
On Sunday we will have another busy day as we are going to Bordeaux to enjoy the sights and sounds. This weeked sees Bordeaux hosting the "Fête le Fleuve" – the Bordeaux River Festival – a bi-annual event which coincides with the arrival of the Belem, France's last surviving three-masted tall ship. There should be lots going on and I'll be trying out Bordeaux's park and ride system (fingers crossed). That said I've been told it stops running at 11pm so we'll miss the finale of a symphony concert and firework display which starts at 10pm.
Monday will have to be a more leisurely day which we'll play by ear.
Tuesday morning will be another early start as I make another 6 hour round trip to the airport.
Hopefully there'll be lots of photos and 'tales to tell' to follow.
Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget to join in with The Captain's Challenge
